  • Short Story Finalist

I’m pleased to announce that my short story “A Good, Good Day" has been selected as a finalist in the 2011 Polar Expressions national fiction competition.  The story has nothing to do with RVing, but what the heck!

"We received hundreds of entries from writers across Canada and your short story has been judged as being in the top third," said the notification letter.  I think this basically means that a third of the entries have no egregious errors of grammar or spelling.  🙂

Approximately 200 finalists will move to the final rounds of judging.  Winners will be announced in December, 2011.  All finalists as well as three winners and ten honorable mentions will be published in an anthology called Inkspots, to be released in December.

This is the third time I have been a finalist in this contest (2008, 2009; did not enter in 2010).  "Always a bridesmaid..."?
